What is B-3?
Nevada Department of Education, Office and Early Learning and Development operate the Birth – 3rd grade initiative. The purpose of B-3 is to improve the quality and coherence of children’s learning opportunities and encompasses the range of children’s learning experiences from birth (preschool) through third grade. It is not a mixed bag of initiatives or programs, but rather requires intentional planning, formally designed strategies, and explicit leadership and support. For a current list of B-3 projects, visit: https://doe.nv.gov/offices/oeld/families/birth-3rd-grade/B-3 Community Hub
The B-3 Community Hub is rooted in research and evidence-based practices and is designed to tackle key questions encountered by those developing and implementing comprehensive B-3 strategies within their schools, districts, or communities. Find Resources, Nevada’s B-3 History, Research Summary from “Making the Case for B-3, Dec. 2025” and informational pages exploring the various categories within B-3. This hub has a ton of valuable information for families and professionals. Click on Birth-3rd Grade Community Hub to view.Reports and Documents
