About the Local ECAC Supports
The Preschool Development Grant, Birth through Five funds were utilized for Local ECAC Supports, administered by The Children’s Cabinet in collaboration with the Nevada Department of Education.
All Nevada Local ECACs, active or inactive, had the opportunity to receive funding support.
The purpose of this funding is to support Nevada’s Local Early Childhood Advisory Councils (Local ECACs) in demonstrating the following:
– Improved outcomes for children and families
– Supporting the early childhood workforce
– Strengthening early childhood systems within regional contexts and communities
– Aligning with the Nevada ECAC and the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5) initiatives.
Application Process

REQUIRED: The Local ECAC Name/Region
REQUIRED: CHAIR Contact Information– Name and preferred email address
OPTIONAL: CO-CHAIR Contact Information– Name and preferred email address
REQUIRED: Fiscal Agent or Organization: Business Name and Physical Address
REQUIRED: Fiscal Agent Contact Information: Name, Phone Number, Email Address
TIME: The Application has a variety of questions, some may need collaboration from your Local ECAC and could take some time to complete in their entirety. Thoughtfully complete your answers, plan for some questions that request answers to be a few paragraphs to a few pages long to give a chance to show what achievable goals you plan to accomplish using the funds, if awarded.

The Goals and Objectives Worksheet – REQUIRED with submission of Application. This tool guides you in alignment between your goals and strategic planning with PDG B-5 initiatives and goals.

PDG B-5 Initiatives
- Parents and families engage in a comprehensive B-5 system that is intuitive and useful in a way that works for them and empowers their role as their child’s first and most important teacher.
- Strengthened ECCE systems infrastructure enhances mutual respect and shared understanding of best practices and research-based child development and education.
- Data-informed decision making and evaluation inform the continuous quality improvement of all components of the ECCE system, including the statewide strategic plan, with a central focus on equity and equitable outcomes for vulnerable populations.
- Access to high-quality ECCE settings enable children to thrive in developmentally appropriate care and learning environments throughout the early learning continuum of Birth through 3rd grade (or 0-8 years old).
- The Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) workforce feels valued in their profession, is supported by the system, and chooses to enter and stay in the field as a career.
